About hijab(veil)

What  is Veil?

A veil is a peice of cloth  worn by women to cover their  head /face and shoulders .

Why is Hijab worn by muslims ?

There are many reasons for wearing hijab in muslims .Some of the reasons which i will tell you here are :-

1 : According to some , it is worn by muslim women to maintain their privacy from unrelated males . 

In the past this rule was made for both males and females. According to Quran , it was instructed  muslim men and women to dress modesty .  

2. According to some , the veil has been used as a way of curbing male sexual desire . 

3. According to some , the headscarf is a convenience . It can reduce comments from others about womens being out in public and lessen incidents of harassment on the street and at a work  . 

Different types of Islamic clothing :-

1 : Hijab :- It is a headscarf that covers the hair and neck.

2 : Burqa:- It covers the whole body of the women .It can either be a one-peice or a two-peice garment.

3 : Khimar:- It is a long scarf that covers the head and chest but keepa the face uncovered .

4 : Shalaya:- A rectangular peice of cloth wrapped around the head and pinned place.

Rules for wearing hijab :

1: Covering of all the body parts except the face , hands and feet . 

2: Not wearing the clotes that are too tight and revealing . 

3.Not wearing transparent clothes or scarf . 

4.Attractive makeup , loud accessories ,luscious perfumes in public is not acceptable.

5.Boyfriend /girlfriend relations , dating , physical contact ( shaking hand , hugging, kissing etc ) isn't permissible. 

Above rules for a hijab wearing women are valid for all mens except her:

father ,husaband , brothers , sons, uncle's, grandfather, father-in-law,son-in-law.

At what age does muslim women  wear hijab?

There is no any specific age of wearing hijab . Its her choice when she wants to.

 A person should wear a hijab only when they want to with their heart and not under pressure.
